Default New Mesmer Skill? Reappearing Memory

***Before anyone tells me, I didn't know what to search for, so this might've been suggested***

Reappearing Memory:
Illusion Magic / Inspiration Magic (I'm leaning towards Illusion)
Cost: 10 en Cast: 2 secs Recharge: 45 secs
Hex: Target foe is hexed with Reappearing Memory for 15 seconds and losses 10...15 energy. When Reappearing Memory ends, target foe gains 30...25 energy.

This is like Mantra of Recovery only in hex form with a bit of change.

Here's another one like this, but a little different.

Reappearing Memory:
Inspiration Magic
Cost: 10 en Cast: 2 secs Recharge: 45 secs
Hex: Target foe is hexed with Reappearing Memory for 15 seconds, losses 10...15, and you gain 10..15 energy. When Reappearing Memory ends, target foe gains 30...25 energy and you lose 30...25 energy.

BTW, the values can change.

Umm...two more ^^

Memory Loss:
Illusion Magic
Cost: 10 en Cast: 2 secs Recharge: 45 secs
Hex: Target foe is hexed with Memory Loss for 25 seconds and gains 20...15 energy. When Memory Loss ends, target foe losses 20...25 energy

Memory Loss:
Inspiration / Domination (I think Inspiration)
Cost: 10 en Cast: 2 secs Recharge: 45 secs
Hex: Target foe is hexed with Memory Loss for 25 seconds and gains 20...15 energy, and you lose 20...15 energy. When Memory Loss ends, target foe losses 20...25 energy and you gain 20...25 energy.

LOL they're really similar. Tell me what you think ^^.

EDIT: Didn't want to bump this as it doesn't seem fair for something unneccessary, but...

HI MISFATE! ZOMG ^^.

Magik Haaters FTW.

Obey the Magik Haat.

BTW Misfate you're still in KOL, which you aren't ^^.

I quite like the first one. However, I think it would actually be pretty harmful to your cause if they happened to get the hex removed early. Couldn't the mana they gain back be the same as the amount they lost?

The second I would be a lot more hesitant to use, as you want to have mana during battle and give it up after battle (if you have to give it up at all).

The third and forth can very easily be worked around by following those hexes with Shatter Delusions to make it end prematurely, thus triggering the after effect right away. With Shatter Delusions it's somewhat useful, though when you do the math, (10 + 5 energy to make the enemy lose 10 net energy and take damage) Energy Burn seems to acomplish this better.

Without Shatter Delusions it doesn't seem very useful at all. 25 seconds is way too long. By that time the enemy has already exhausted his mana. Since he knows he will lose mana once the hex is over, he can just go wild until then with the free mana you gave him.

The 4th one essentially costs 25 mana up-front, 30 mana if you don't invest many attribute points. That really doesn't seem worth it. Again Shatter Delusions can make it useful, but without Shatter Delusions it is useless.

So, the first one is good, the second is questionable, and the last two are rubbish (to put it bluntly).

As for the name, if you're going to call it something like "Reappearing Memory" then I personally feel it sounds like it should be in Domination.

I don't like the thought of giving my enemy energy. Does a warrior use executioners strike and apologize?

That's one part of these skills I have a big problem with too. I wouldn't say a skill that gives your enemy energy isn't useful though. Look at Power Return. That gives energy back to your enemy but it's a spammable interrupt!

Don't forget you can have negative energy right? Like when you have 7 energy with a staff and you switch to a bow, you would have -3 energy.

The second versions of each are put in just to make them more balanced.
